One of my Hordie DKs recently did some quests for whasisname, the belf DK… moanieboy kept saying things like “you don’t know what it’s like” and “I was at Light Chapel blahblah”. Uh, hello? Look, moron, shiny eyes! And this here thing following me? Hey, it’s a ghoul! D’you figger I got it at G-Mart?
I like that about some of the new quests, they’ve taken those details into account.
We’ll just have to disagree. I hated it. Don’t like disruptions to my regular game play when there’s no option to not participate. Also don’t like the assholes who think it’s fun to spread infections and otherwise create hassle for others. In my view, events should be like Brewfest or Operation Gnomeregan. If you want to participate, you go to the designated location and have at it, but there’s no impact for those who choose otherwise.
I guess I don’t see the point of playing an MMO if you don’t get all excited about world events–if you want complete control over the environment at all times, why not just play a single-player RPG? But, de gustibus non disputandum est.
Yeah, same. The Scourge Invasion was annoying and inconvenient, and I loved it. It shook up the monotony a bit (not that monotony is bad, mind you, but something new is always nice).
BTW, I spent about half an hour playing Peacebloom vs. Ghouls in the beta last night while sitting out some raid bosses, and that’s definitely going to become a time sink for me! It’s fun as hell, and extremely intuitive for anybody who’s already played Plants vs. Zombies. The mechanics are nearly identical, though there are a lot fewer plant and zombie types in the WoW version and the waves seem to last a lot longer.
I actually downloaded *Plants vs. Zombies *last night to get an idea of what all the fuss is about and it was fun as hell. My only regret is that I had to stop playing and go back to laundry and packing after just four levels or so.
How does Peacebloom vs. Ghouls work when there is more than one player trying to play?
Do you have to wait until the one currently playing is finished? Can opposing players on a PVP server gank the current player, who is completely defenseless?
If the answer to either of those questions is yes, I cant’ imagine playing this game will actually be fun.
You’re not actually in the world per se while you’re playing. Once you accept the quest, your UI changes to a vehicle control UI and your screen becomes the game board. You aren’t competing against other players, and I don’t think they can even see you standing there playing. At least that’s the way it seemed to me when I played. It’s kind of like when you’re doing the “bomb stuff” quests on Quel’Danas–players on the ground can’t hit you (though I’m not sure whether they can see you–I never really looked).
