Wow. eBay must have a lot of incidents going on. . .

Well, I just got back from three days in the field, only to check my e-mail inbox (on the Web first, before I download anything suspicious). Here’s what I get (quoted exactly as it appears:

  ! I never knew I had so many incidents! Especially since I haven’t used eBay in nigh on two years!

But I swear to you, great Teeming Millions, I’m so glad I have so many eBay agents, who unfortunately can’t spell worth a dam, but are so vigillant in watching over my acount.

I will sleep safer tonight. ::sigh::

Thank Go d for eBay.

Yep, I received 9 such messages yesterday. Haven’t used ebay since, oh, 2003, I think.

Intriguingly enough, I’ve had two bids cancelled in the last two weeks.

Of course, I haven’t made any bids for the past six months or so.

I bet they catch a LOT of fish with this one.

OTOH, I have been using Ebay quite a lot the last few weeks, (Well bidding anyway, not winning too much.) and the level of phishing emails I have received has went way down.

Did you forward them to spoof@ebay.com? I always do, in the hopes that they will be able to act quickly enough to prevent others from being caught.

Well, first off, there ain’t no such place as “Ebay”. It’s "eBay".

I get several of those a week, and I’ve never used eBay.

I’ve used eBay, but I never called it afterward.

Yeah, I’m a bastard.

How do you know there aren’t any eBaBys running around?

If there were, I want you to know that I’d take full responsibility. I’d even be there at night to tuck the the rugrats in and wish them a pleasant biddy-bye.

No, I didn’t this time (as if I did previously). I usually just delete 'em. They’re only recycled electrons for goodness sake.

I like to help our environment.

I forward them right off to spoof@ebay.com.
I usually get a reply from an ‘Ande’ ( I suspect is short for Android) thanking me for my action and that Ebay will never ask for my…blah, blah, etc.
