A friend whos doing a report on breast cancer was looking up videos on youtube and came across this clip it’s about 5 minutes long and mainly for teens and pre-teens its nothing any adult knows but could you imagine this being on PBS or even being shown in a school ?
This is a clip from a much longer educational show that shows full frontal nudity, male and female. The host puts on surgical gloves and moves stuff around to show details.
(eta: like I was just ninja’d on—I thought I remembered gloves.)
yeah the girl who was painted on in my video didn’t seem impressed …the two kids were amused when she just walked over and pulled the towels down and pointed out the difference between the boy and girl …
They should show this series over here but no way in hell that happens … the torches and pitchforks would be out in force …
Embarassing Bodies is a Channel 4 show over in the U.K. in which doctors treat people with all sorts of issues, everything from teeth rotting away to foot-encompassing warts. They don’t skimp on the nudity, but it’s never presented as titillating. There was an segment on breast cancer in which a roomful of women stripped down to demonstrate self-checking technique, and I remember a guy getting surgery on his penis to correct a sharp curve in it. Not sure if there’s still a season or two on Netflix, but I’m sure it can be streamed somewhere.
It is a good series. Parents should watch it with their teenagers. It’s better than just vaguely talking about the birds and bees.
I watched the vids on youtube. The penis vid left nothong to the imagination. Felt bad when she put a bag of ice on the guy’s testicles. I didn’t see the equivalent vid for women. Youtube must have rejected it for adult content.
Well, maybe your PBS. I’m certain that the first nudity I saw was on KERA in the 70s. I clearly recall unedited Monty Python, and my memory wants to say there was more, but I can’t recall specifics.
Before looking it up just now, I would have assumed you were correct. But it seems she claims she wasn’t topless on Monty Python. I’m happy to be proven incorrect.
The IMDB listing for the episode (formally titled “The BBC Entry for the Zinc Stoat of Budapest (or, It’s the Arts)”) lists Sheila Sands in the uncredited role of “Topless Newsagent.” Looking at her other career credits, almost all of her roles were as strippers.
Also, I strongly suspect that she was the first topless woman I can remember seeing (on TV, or otherwise ).
Channel 4 over here (which I assume still has some residual public service remit) has a dating show called Naked Attraction, where the bits feature heavily.
Yeah, um, a female medical doctor doesn’t hold a mans penis and peel the foreskin back and run their finger up and down the back of the shaft and then massage his testicles. That doc would be booked with appointments forever.
