Wow, online dating actually works!

Hmm, so do I have the longest online dating relationship on the 'Dope? I thought there was someone who had been with their SO longer…
Met on a BBS hosted in the Netherlands. Living together 14 years, married for three.

We can’t beat you, Necros, but we’re coming up on meeting eight years ago now (March 18). We met at love@aol which is out of business now. We celebrated our fifth wedding anniversary last August.

My sister just married her boyfriend that she met from phone dating.

Hey that’s great. I can’t say that it’s worked for me, but it’s worked for so many of you all, there must be some hope for the rest of us yet…

I believe that there’s a female Doper who met her husband that way, so he’s not the only guy to perform that feat.

Congrats!

I met my SO-hubby-thingy on OKCUPID. I’m slowly moving in (he needs to make room for me & my youngest), and we get along great! We can have our differences and we compromise or adjust. I’m still in that ‘high’ stage and I hope to stay there =)

I think Ginger of the North and her husband met here on the Dope.

Met my husband online in 1996, met in person 1997, married 1997, 10 year anniversary a little over a month ago.

I don’t remember the site. friendfinder.com, maybe?

I’m not too far behind you, Necros – met my hubby through an online self-help meeting in '93, met in person in '95, married in '96, still together. It can definitely work.

Although the game was less massive, it was still technically a multi-player online game. Kingdom of Loathing, if anyone’s curious.

Our third wedding anniversary is in September.

And while my sweetie is a Doper, he’s not Autolycus  I married Nanook Of The North Shore, Lurker Extrordinaire and Poker Fiend.

I met my SO four years ago while playing an MMO. We’re not married, but he refers to my parents-- whom he hasn’t met yet-- as his future in-laws, so I guess that means it’s going well.

I wouldn’t recommend it as a way to meet people, though.
