Wow... What a decision...

I’m very very excited. I’ve never done much travelling, and I finally get to with one of my best friends next summer. The choice isn’t ultimately up to me, but I thought I’d ask what y’all think. We’re either going to live with his family in the Hamptons and work at their restaurant and make a lot of money, OR (here’s what I think I like better) go live and work at an American resort somewhere in Germany making $16 an hour… The only problem with the resort job is that supposedly sometimes the women get really bored and just INSIST upon taking the guys who work there out partying.

So… Restaurant, or German women? Gee, tough choice.

Germany. The Hamptons are nice, but full of rich people, and would you REALLY like to spend your summer pandering to rich Manhattanites on summer holiday who want their gin-and-tonic NOW?

No-brainer. Go to Germany. Arbeit macht fun.

MR

I’d head to Germany, it’s more exotic that some stuck up Hamptonites.

Germany. Why would you want to do the hamptons thing?

Be sure to bring your digital camera so you can take pictures of all the beautiful women you meet.

Is it a military recreation center in Germany, by any chance? Because in that case, please only go if you actually enjoy things like dealing with the public. In our four years there, when we would go to places like Cheimsee and Garmisch in hopes of a little family R&R, we got heartily sick of employees who were only there to hang out in Germany, and resented the fact that their work cut into their party time.

That being said, Cheimsee and Garmisch are beautiful, wonderful places, and several months in Germany is an experience you will never forget.

Germany.

Lucretia: I do enjoy dealing with the public. I think I’ll be a decent employee.

I need to brush up on my Deutsch. I took four years in high school from a really good teacher, but it’s been a year since then.

Heheh, jawohl.

I would have to say go to Germany. Hands down no decision to make in my opinion.

Don’t worry–it comes right back to you when you need it. I had three years, aber, I hab es vergessen…

Go have fun in the Vaterland. Bring me back a piece of Swartzwalden Kirschtorte.
