NASA investigators have tested wing warping for control on a modified F/A 18A. They found that it can result in better control, especially in a speed range where conventional controls are poor performers, a lighter weight, simpler and aerodynamically more efficient wing structure.

And I think that even the Wrights abandoned wing-warping in favor of ailerons.
