I can see how his comment could be interepreted, but I guess Elvis and I have been going at it long enough that I understood where he was going with it.
This could’ve all been so easily avoided if only the English language retained the distinct singular “you” versus plural “you”.
Not in this case. Both the singular “you” and the plural “you” would include the person being addressed.
