I plan on making buttons out of this, maybe even enlarging it to make a small poster. Just wanted to offer it up to any dopers who thought it attractive.

Gee, it works for me.
Can anybody see it?
Geocities doesn’t allow people to directly link to a jpg. Attrayant- does your main site have a link to the pic? If so, post a link to the main site (or a part of the site that links to the pic) and tell people which link to click on.
One of the in-house techs where I work made it up in his spare time. He passed it on to friends via company email so I would have to link you to my company’s intranet, which I can’t do.
Is this a recent thing with Geocities? I’m certain I’ve done it before.
no
You can cut and paste the URL into the address window and get there. Not to be critical, It’s well done and a really good idea… but the pictograms of the buildings, particularly the twin towers formed into the number ‘11’, doesn’t sit well with this observer.
just MHO, FWIW.
Thanks for the work-around, Waverly. I thought the “11” was a nice tribute, but everybody will look at it a little differently I’m sure.
that worked.
Well, to get back to the OP:
IMO, visually speaking, the “11” is way too big. It needs to be more symmetrical, with the 9 and the 11 equal in size. And it’s, I dunno, cluttered somehow. It’s got too much “stuff” in it. Simplify, simplify…
I couldn’t tell it was supposed to be twin towers until Waverly mentioned it, then I had to go back and look at it.
[shrug]
[sub]also getting a teeny bit maxed out on the American flag everywhere everywhere everywhere–a year from now we’ll all be kinda embarrassed at how overboard we all went, so his logo won’t age well[/sub]
Link worked fine.
Image was instantly clear.
Not a bad effort.
It’s interesting in that the pictograph gives more prominence to the Pentagon than the World Trede Center, especially since the Pentagon tragedy has almost fallen completely off the radar.
Though it’s not completely unexpected; there were no spectacular visuals of the a collapsing tower, and the body count was lower.
To the graphic at hand:
Is it just me or are your eyes pulled almost immediately to the flag at the bottom over all else in the icon? I’m not sure if that was intended or not.
I loved the symbol. Got it immediately and put it own my own homepage. Thanks for showing us it.
I really like it, myself. I’ve seen a few symbols which were okay, but they seemed sort of bland and expressionless - I found this one quite striking. And I liked the way the images of the towers and pentagon were incorporated. I didn’t perceive the pentagon as more prominent.
I’m not sure how I can use this (don’t have a web page), but I have saved it to my PC and I’ll find some purpose for it - if nothing else, I’ll send it to a few other people and share it with SO cygnus. Thanks to Attrayant for sharing it, and also to the person who designed it.

My experience with the OP link…
“Page not available” in Netscape.
Works fine in Microsoft Internet Explorer.
Have no idea why.
Not an endorsement to come to the Dark Side.
That’s pretty cool. I liked it.

I, for one, like that you included the Pentagon in your symbol/image. A lot of the remembrance type images out there are entirely focused on NYC forgetting that there were still a group of people who lost their lives here in Virginia.
