In this thread, also in the Pit, I quoted a few articles of the Uniform Code of Military Justice which I believe cover (or could cover) the bit of “war souvenirs” or looting/plunder. I believe that the hunting of the gazelles is plundering, which is forbidden by the UCMJ. Essentially, then, it’s completely irrelevant if the animals are endangered or if the MREs are actually food.
Perhaps it’s more pillaging, “taking of spoils [of war],” althoug plunering is “taking booty.” (I based those definitions on dictionary.com’s.)
Be so kind as to mentally edit “…althoug plunering…” to read “…although plundering…” Thank you.
