According to IMDB, he was on S2 E72 on Jan. 2, 1998. Can you tell me why you don’t think is is so? (you might as well correct IMDB while you’re at it)

According to this, it wasn’t until January 8, 1998, which was episode 4 of the third season.
But then, according to this, the future Michael Bluth wasn’t on until January 12, episode 5 of season 3.
Maybe I’ve just internalized this board’s mores, but I can’t even think of an argument why there should be a standing order for the banishment of locked threads.
Hmmmm, it looks like IMBD and epguides agree on the date (Jan. 8 1998) and episode number (229), but just disagree on what a ‘season’ is. Actually, both of the links you provide seem to be equating a season to a calendar year, whereas IMDB has other ideas. I haven’t a clue what would be ‘right’ in this instance.
