Wulfleet! Or: How far back can you read English?

Same here. I can sorta understand the point, but I miss a lot.

Here is my attempt to translate the last passage, without looking anything up. First, a word for word translation, then contemporary English.

And þæt heo sægde wæs eall soþ.
And that she said was all truth,
And what she said was all true

Ic ƿifode on hire,
I “wifed” her,
I married her,

and heo ƿæs ful scyne ƿif, ƿis ond ƿælfæst.
and she was full pretty woman, wise and wellfast,
and she was a beautiful woman, wise and ???

Ne gemette ic næfre ær sƿylce ƿifman.
Not met I never ere such woman.
I never before met such a woman.

Heo ƿæs on gefeohte sƿa beald swa ænig mann,
She was in fight as bold as any man (or person),
She was as bold as any man in a fight,

and þeah hƿæþere hire andƿlite wæs ƿynsum and fæger.
and though? whether her appearance? was winsome and fair.
though she appeared winsome and fair.

Ac ƿe naƿiht freo ne sindon,
?? we nought free? not are,
We are still not free,

for þy þe ƿe næfre ne mihton fram Ƿulfesfleote geƿitan,
(“fordi” in Danish means “because”, so I am guessing “for þy” means “because”)
because this we never no might from Wolfsport ???,
as there is a reason we may never leave Wolfsport,

nefne ƿe þone Hlaford finden and hine ofslean.
“not-if-not” we the Lord find and him slay.
unless we find and slay the Lord

Se Hlaford hæfþ þisne stede mid searocræftum gebunden,
This Lord hath this city with sour?-craft bound,
The Lord has bound this city with an evil spell,

þæt nan man ne mæg hine forlætan.
that no man not may it depart.
such that no man can depart.

Ƿe sindon her sƿa fuglas on nette, swa fixas on ƿere.
We are here as fowls in net, as foxes in wire??.
We are like birds in a net, like foxes in wire.

And ƿe hine secaþ git, begen ætsomne,
And we him seek yet, ?? ??
And we seek him still, ??? ,

ƿer ond ƿif, þurh þa deorcan stræta þisses grimman stedes.
man and wife, through the dark streets (of) this grim city.
man and wife, through the dark streets of this grim city

Hƿæþere God us gefultumige!
Whether God us ???
May God fulfill (this) for us!
