Can anybody point me to a source – on or offline – that cites the number of military casualties during world war II on a month-by-month, or even year-by-year basis?
Wikipedia has this little gem, which gives casualty figures on the four main fronts per year, although (a) no sources, so it could be a load of barmy old cack, and (b) no numbers, except for the total. It seems that the western front was a pretty good place to be if you were a German soldier, until 1944. I’m guessing that “western front” includes North Africa.
