I hate to ask a question like this, but my usual research avenues have failed me. Where can I find a picture of a French First World War infantry uniform and of a German same? It’s for a story I’m writing. Thanks.
I’m not sure they’ve got French or German, but I recall that www.heritagestudio.com has a bunch of good (mainly American) uniform pictures. I suppose this isn’t too useful, but I figured it’s worth a mention.
Haven’t got the French, but:

I was thinking about WWI helmets just the other day. The French wore metallic (steel, IIRC) skullcaps before they adapted the Adrian-type helmet in 1916. I’d like to see a picture of one of the skullcaps since I really can’t picture it. Is it like a monk’s hat made out of metal?

I love Trenches on the Web, and I love even more the spoonerization thereof (Wenches on the Treb). Check it out.
Am I reading Hippocrates right?
He’s not just a big box for storing large semi-aquatic mammals, is he?
