WWII warbird fans: flyable P-61 restoration

I’d be really anxious to see anything mechanically complex that could sit for 60 years in the jungle and still function even remotely well. :smiley:
Any warbird is going to have somewhat more risk attached to it due to its age, even if the restoration is done correctly. I was only trying to say I would have faith in flying anything this cool if the resto is done well. BTW, I will be contributing.

They are replacing the engines, the wiring, the control cables and much of the fuselage.
Not much left that is 60 years old, but all of it cool.

we have one on display at the museum in my area. Awesome plane. I always wondered how they would have done in waves of low altitude bombers chewing up everything in front of them and then blowing up everything behind them. they would have been their own escorts.
