WWOZ: did it lose it's domain?

Does anybody out there know what happerned to WWOZ in New Orleans?

I guess if I lived in NO I could dial up the radio and find out, but I’m in Pittsburgh, so I can’t. I stream WWOZ almost daily.

I went to listen to the radio station this morning and the domain wwoz.org has been reclaimed (I guess)

Is there anybody from the Crescent City out there who knows the scoop.

I’m having a tough time this morning without my dose of free local (well not really local, but kickass nonetheless!) music.

The website works fine for me. Maybe it was just down temporarily?

Really, you got the familiar home page with the link to play streaming radio?

not working here.

I get some page that heads with network solutions and says that the domain has expired.

I tried it just now and it worked fine. Never been to that page before so it’s not an issue of a cached page still displaying.

Did you try going to www.wwoz.org? That is where wwoz.org redirects you to when you go there. Perhaps there is a glitch in the redirection for you?

You guys are screwing with me.

I have visited wwoz everyday for the past 10 years.

What comes up at www.wwoz.org is not the regular site.

You may have a virus on your computer that is screwing with your DNS.

Try editing the hosts file (instructions there for Windows XP) and adding an entry for www.wwoz.org at 72.47.253.47

If that doesn’t fix it, if you’re in a lab and if you have an IT person, I would talk to them about the problem.
