XKCD 1190: "Time"---Randall's setting something up...

hmm, so waiting for all of this to be over before checking out the full comic, is going to take some time.

Hence the title “time” and the mouseover text “Wait for it”

Why are we spoilering this?

Or more likely some kind of house cat looking for people since the house is abandoned.

T’hell with the spoilers.

That’d be one big kitty cat; it’s nearly as big as they are and can knock them over.

Well… things just got a lot darker…

3 months as of today

I’m still waiting for it…

I hope there’s more walking.

Looks like it’s starting to fade out.

Not fade out, it’s a sunset.

You ain’t seen nothin’ yet. Check out the sequence of pics ensuing from frame 2357 on…

Seriously, that is some beautiful artistry there.

From the angle of the sun’s descent, and assuming they’re on Earth, derive what possible latitudinal range they are in. Go.

Why assume? We can clearly calculate the gravitational pull based upon the rate of descent from the trebuchet firing.

And by “we” I meant “you.”

The time between frames seems to vary a lot, so I don’t think you could figure it out. There’s no way to figure out the “real time”.

People assume that time is a strict progression of cause to effect, but actually from a non-linear, non-subjective viewpoint - it’s more like a big ball of wibbly wobbly… time-y wimey… stuff.
Or maybe they’re in an alternate universe where time flows just like it’s shown on screen. That every creature has evolved with limited transporter technology and each frame occurs with no break between them.

A moving (and growing) light in the sky. Firefly, normal movement of the stars over time, or METEOR COMING RIGHT FOR US?!?

Guess we’ll have to wait for it…

Great bit of dialog here: xkcd Time - at your own pace

Cueball: I’ll wake you if I get tired.
Megan: Or if something is trying to eat you, and you need me to hit it.

Anybody recognize the constellations?

Just stars, it turns out.

There’s a big W that might perhaps be Cassiopeia. Not quite the same shape, but close.
