XP/password question.

I run Windows XP for Home. On e-mail sign-ins and other pages that request a password it refuses to remember the password even though I ask it to.

For instance, if I do on-line banking, enter the card number, password, etc. and ask it to sign me in automatically it still will not comply. Same with e-mail.

Have I set some security function that prohibits automatic sign-in?

Thanks, I’m computer lazy and looking for a quick fix. (Tech support is a total PITA and manuals are unintelligable.)

Check your cookie security settings. Tools > Internet Options > Privacy tab. If you have your settings too restrictive, you might not be storing the necessary cookies for automatic login.
