And he still got $1.15 I think no matter what. So even if only $2m it ends up more.
Gardy is inevitable.
He’ll be back on some deal to be the back-up outfielder, but will then play in 130 games due to Aaron Hicks and whoever else going on the IL.
Toronto made qualifying offers to Robbie Ray and Marcus Semien, which of course they will refuse. They did NOT make such an offer to Steven Matz, which I think is really stupid.
I can’t believe I missed this thread, but on the Michael Kay show now, the rumor is that the Yanks are looking to trade for the A’s Olson, for Gleybor and Voit. I’d take that in a heartbeat.
Absolutely. I like Rizzo but there’s no guarantee he won’t sign with a different team. And Rizzo is older with nagging back issues. Olson would be a great fit and answer a couple of questions. DJ permanently at 2nd where he belongs and they would have control of Olson for two years.
That does sound pretty solid. Secure a lefty slugger.
How’s his fielding?
Above average. He has two gold gloves and ranks top 6 in UZR.
I love this guy. He would be perfect in the Bronx, which means they probably won’t get him. The price would be steep, but who cares?
The issue is whether the Yankees have the prospect assets to beat another team’s offer. There’s a lot of scuttlebutt about this and the general gist of it that the A’s want a king’s ransom and will settle for nothing less; after all, if the A’s keep him for 2022 he could get them into the postseason and that’s great too.
