I had a good day yesterday!
I went to my first ever City Council meeting. They are developing the land directly behind my house and I wanted the scoop on it. After the presentation there was time for the public to voice concerns, so I asked a few questions and brought up some points about traffic. Council debated my questions with the city planner for about 15 minutes after I asked them. Afterwards the Mayor came to me during the break and thanked me for bringing up my concerns as he thought they were very important.
It was nice not to get the feeling of just being brushed off! 
Then, after I got home I went through our mail. One was from a hospital home lottery. I opened the letter and we won a DVD player! While it was not one of $400,000 houses up for grabs, it was still better than a poke in the bum with a sharp stick and far better than most people that bought tickets!
I think I’ll go out and buy a few lottery tickets while my luck is still up there!
