Yay! Things are working out.

While the board was down, I realized something: my life is working out, and this is cool.

-I’m getting A’s in all my classes so far. Admittedly, all of the work save for one major programming project (well, major for a freshman) has been itty bitty quizzes, but it’s still cool.

-My roommate and I get along. We don’t argue, are polite, and respect each others space. We’re still kind of distant due to a lack of common interests, but that’s not really a problem.

-I have a social life now. Admittedly, it consists of the Association for Computing Machinery and the Science Fiction Fan Club, but it’s much more than I had before.

-I like programming, and am fairly good at it. At least, I finish my in-lab projects about the time that the students with prior C++ experience do. And it’s fun. I would be perfectly happy to do this for years on end.

-I have become the tech-support guy for my floor. This means that every guy on my floor knows my name and goes out of their way to be nice to me. Or maybe they’re just friendly. I’m not quite sure.

-I am a lazy bastard, and don’t exercize, besides walking to classes and climbing stairs. Therefore, I’ve been (successfully so far) monitoring what I eat, to avoid the freshmen 15. I have the highschool fifteen, and feel no need to complete the set. I’ve just calculated that my meal plan gives me ~$3.50 a day food allowance. Since I am a cheap bastard first, and a lazy bastard second, this means that A) I will be eating even less, and B) I will be attending social events for free food, and thus be even more socially active.

So, my life is cool right now, and I felt like sharing. Thank you.

I’m glad to hear things are going well for you. I’m a bit shocked to find out you only have $3.50 a day for meals. But better yet - keep your chin up and have fun socializing!!!

It’s not as bad as it sounds. A meal runs from $2.00 to $3.50. I usually eat a big, salad-enhanced lunch (~$2.00), and get something simple for dinner. And, I’ve got the proceeds of working from ages 10-18 on a debit card. However, spending more money than I absolutely have to on anything ruins my appetite.
Figures. After writing the above, an online graded activity just barfed while I was taking it, giving me 0 out of 15 possible points. Oh, well, the teacher is a 3117 d00D*, and will probably let me redo it.
*That’s ‘elite dude’, for those of you with virgin, um, eyes, or something.
