Is this possible? My cat has an infection (diagnosed by the vet) in her ears that seems to have spread to her face. After a week of treatment with tresaderm she was symptom free for about five days, but now she’s back to digging frantically in her ears. She also rubs her face against every surface in the house; IIRC she started doing this before the digging began.
My home (a rental) is an old house that was very poorly “renovated.” All the trim is unsanded rough lumber, much of it unpainted. When I moved in two years ago I had rats, but exterminated and cleaned.
Is it possible that she’s getting reinfected? If so, how do I sterilize?
One more note: the poor dear just got out of ringworm jail (we adopted each other in July), during which time i scrupulously disinfected all surfaces with a bleach solution several times. It occurs to me I may have killed off yeast-eating bacteria. Maybe I should paint yogurt on all srufaces.
