I am intrigued by your ideas and wish to subscribe to your newsletter.
Now that you mention it, the park is quiet… too quiet. I have a baaaad feeling about this. Let’s split up and investigate.
Yeah, and I know the head vulcanologist guy is only a few days away from retirement. I think he just went out to investigate some suspicious outgassing.
If you hear a loud noise, and it turns out to be a cat, it means the volcano will go off within minutes.
I’ll be investigating with Daphne in the back of the Mystery Machine.
Don’t worry, it’ll be alright.
If nothing else, news like this doesn’t half remind us how much we take for granted. Does anyone remember a documentary about an island in the Canary’s which is supposed to be ready for sliding into the Atlantic and causing a tidal wave that will possibly wipe out your entire East coast? I don’t want to alarm you or anything, but shouldn’t someone be chipping away at that thing now, to lessen the splash?
Looks like I picked the wrong week to take up drinking.
Bad news: you’re not guaranteed to be safe. There was another eruption that did cover central Arkansas with ash.
And then it will get cold. Like the Year Without a Summer, only worse. Snow in the summer, that sort of thing.
I promise not to sing. My singing makes dying of cold and starvation in a volcanic winter seem not so bad by comparison.
I never thought Mississippi would look good…
Snow in the summer, fire in the sky.
Smooooooooke on the water.
I’d like to propose a shadowy, quasi-legal military operation, where Billy Bob Thornton (as a representative of the U.S. Government) hires Bruce Willis and Ben Affleck to drill into the about-to-explode supervolcano while Steve Buscemi succumbs to space madness and Liv Tyler cries a lot. All those in favor?
Do they screw?
Not on the US version…we’re saving that for the unrated Blu-Ray collector set
Anything that involves Steve Buscemi and Ben Affleck standing on, and drilling directly into, a huge pocket of lava gets my vote. I think they need a little help, are Rush Limbaugh, Paris Hilton, or Ashley Simpson doing anything? Bruce Willis can stand over here and direct, and I’ll keep Liv Tyler company. I’ve got the animal crackers right here.
“Won’t somebody please think of the children!”
Volcanic ash is particularly nasty on machines. It would bring down airplanes and screw up electronics. It would be bad far ,far away.
Really? I know Jake Lowenstern. He must be taking a very early retirement since he’s only in his 30s.
Then again, maybe he does know something and he’s not sharing!
Also car and truck engines, if the Mega Disasters show I watched recently can be believed.
