Yep. I think what we got here is a college student, of the Buckeye variety!

Congrats to Jessica2 who was notified today that she has been accepted to Ohio State University!

YAY!

I shall respond with:

w0000000t!!!

Because that’s awesome.

Huzzah! Huzzah! Our very own orange…goin’ to columbus!

:: jarbaby dances ::

And you know that Ohio colleges accept only the very best!
Congratulations Jess

Ahem.

WOO!

I’m very glad to hear that Jess, best of luck at the Ohio State University. I think you’ll do very well, this move and everything is going to be a great fresh start for you. College is a lot of fun, make the most of it and enjoy your time there

Congrats Jessica2! I was born here, raised here, attended college here and still live here. Welcome to Buckeye country!

I wish I could see your reaction to your first Buckeye football game. The stadium alone holds 100k+. The pre and post game crowds are well over that.

Enjoy!

Congrats! Sorry about the tuition thing–they are really stiffing freshmen this year–but it’s still a bargain!

Could have done better. I mean there’s this university to the north that is superior in every way. Something about Go Blue!! and all that. (Check my name if you need further help)
Congrats!! Welcome to the Big Ten (11).

Thank you thank you thank you!! All of you!

I should say, this isn’t my first trip to college. This is more about changing my life.

When I graduated from high school, I started going to a local university. . . I didn’t know what I wanted to do, but waiting to go to college didn’t seem like an option. After a year and a half there, I dropped out for a semester, hoping that I could get it together enough to come back and finish and get on with my life. I did go back, and I did finish, but I never felt like I was doing what I should be doing. I got my Associates degree, but in the back of my mind, I wanted to go back to school. So for two years I’ve been working in a restaurant. Restaurant? I haven’t been able to find a job where I live using my degree that will pay me more than I make at the restaurant job.

I hate it here where I live. It seems like I don’t know anybody who wants anything better for themselves. Ever since I got out of college the first time, I’ve felt pretty much worthless.

Anyway.

Seven or eight months ago, this crazy idea popped into my head. ‘I’ll move to Columbus and go back to school at Ohio State!’ So I got busy working on it. I never really questioned whether or not I’d get accepted, but this is more like the beginning of new things for me. I might like living in Columbus, I might not. If I don’t like it, I’m young enough to go somewhere else. The point is, I’m taking a step in a different direction and it feels good. I’m really excited.

You do realize that the downside to your decision is that you will be required to attend the OH-Dope this Fall? Lucky us, poor you.

That is the best news I have heard in a very, very long time. I am busting for you, Orange Jessamalicious.

I wonder if I can get an Orange Jessamalicious down at the mall. It sounds delicious.

Yay Jess!

::runs half-naked through thread::

Cool to hear. Brother got his PhD from there, and sister just got her Masters there earlier this month. Graduation was a hoot to be at, security everywhere and snipers on the towers.

I can tell right now my life in Columbus is going to be harsh.

Lucky for y’all, I’ll have a tiny bit of floorspace to spare in my apartment for people who might want to stay.

I’m still SO excited!

Hey Jess,

That faint yelling and whooping you heard at 11:15PM tonight? That was me hollering in congratulations for ya tonight.

Tripler
Columbus, eh?

So THAT’S what that noise was!

Thank you!!

I’m so proud of you, Jessity!

:bump:

My dad went there, waaaaaay back in the 70s.

Congratulations!
