It’s easy to step back when “the opposition” has the facts and the logic to back him up. Sometimes it’s as simple as “I never thought of that”.
Oh, he’s untwisted his knickers since I was only gone for the one day and thus managed to cover the bloody job fair as originally planned. I suspect he also had the jury situation fully corroborated by a couple of the other 'murricans we have here.
So, back to the salt mines.
~$8.50 to $9.00/hr…starting…and can end up being ~$14.00/hr. with merit raises. Not a large ransom for jewels such as these…and we are on the high end of the scale…but that’s social services sector for ya, but considering that only HS education or GED is a base requirement, it’s not too bad.
Maybe this would work, maybe not, but couldn’t you just say you were prejudiced against whatever race the defendent/plaintiff?
Just tell the judge you hate people who are: black/asian/latino/italian/polish/british/wasp/canadian/irish/etc.
But be sure to insert the appropriate racial epitaph. 
I don’t know; call me a wimp but simulating being a racist asshole in front of a judge and sixty other people of various ethnic backgrounds, just to get out of jury duty, doesn’t sound all that attractive a proposition.
Actually, during pre-selection, the judge asks those present to acknowledge that they are of sound mind and good moral character. That was an easy out right there. According to many, I’m neither, but I kept mum about it anyway.
