Yes, I'm Dumb, But What Is This Sport?

Babeliness is in the eye of the beholder, but I have to say . . . I was disappointed the first time I saw the Swedish team. I found only one out of four to be even remotely babely.

Russian women’s skip Liudmila Privivkova. DEEBEE DEEBEE DEEBEE DEEBEE DEEBEE DEEBEE!!

I’m just back from the open house at the Broomstones Curling Club. It was very crowded. Had to wait outside for a while to even get in. Then they had tickets with different times on them, a place to stretch, and they took groups of about 20 out to each sheet. They gave us each a piece of duct tape for our sliding foot, did a little demonstration first, then everybody got a turn to deliver one rock. I got to watch a few people before it was my turn. Then right foot in the hack, reach out, draw back and hips up, push, slide, and release. I wasn’t very graceful, but…

I put it in the 8-foot circle.

Signed up for a mini-league the next three weeks.

I had mandatory curling in Phys. Ed. Would have liked it a lot more if I could make a step and not fall on my ass. Yes, I’m Canadian who can’t balance on the ice. The last time I tried skating, I broke my wrist. And my heart. :frowning:

But being from Saskatchewan, I have to say I <3 Sandra Schmirler.
