CNN.com on Iowa Democrats’ views of Obama nowadays: http://www.cnn.com/2012/01/02/politics/iowa-obama-four-years-later/index.html
Think Progress reports that not only does the Iowa GOP allow same-day registration, but they do not require ID to vote in their caucus.
How strange is that considering nationwide Republican efforts to ‘eliminate voter fraud’ by eliminating same day registration and instituting ID laws? I guess those safeguards are only necessary when there is a Democrat involved in that day’s vote.

Yes and no. An election in a primary is not governed by the same rules as a an actual election, nor should it be. It’s not a function of government to determine who can or cannot vote in a party’s primary. The parties could allow 6 year olds to vote if they wanted.
Never mind.
Thaiger Woods?
If he wins in Iowa, he should really Thai one on!
Remember, Cthulhu’s supporters will be among the last to be eaten.
OTOH, the GOP race is very tight. We might see a Thai!
:dubious: I beg your eldritch, blasphemous pardon.
Randall Terry is undoubtedly a candiates mainly as a protest and to awake the conscience of America sort of like Cindy Sheehen.
Obama addresses Iowa Democrats and implicitly promises not to eat any of them: http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2012/01/03/obama-talks-to-iowa-supporters-on-caucus-night/?hpt=hp_t1
Anybody see Kaylasdad? Sure. Pun police are pretty scarce when John Mace drops a stinker. I make a droll witticism, and I catch the shit. I see how things are!
So who won?
FWIW, the opportunities for fraud are minimal. You have to be at your caucus when it starts - no latecomers - so you really only get one. I guess out-of-staters could potentially abuse this but really?
Aren’t the Iowa Dems the same way anyway? I know some people who float between parties so they can caucus either way.
Looks like Obama got 98% of the delegates. Other candidates split the rest.
Now I’m wondering what a fraction of a delegate looks like.
“OK, that’s 320 full delegates, and…Hey, Bob?”
“Oh God, please, no!”
“Sorry, Bob. We need another 0.97 delegates. You’re right-handed, right?”
And he thought he’d only be throwing his hat into the ring…
