YES! WE WIN! Or you think YOUR drivers are bad?

The freakshow that is Miami has earned the dubious honor of having not only the rudest drivers in this great nation of ours, FOR THE 2ND YEAR IN A ROW, but also captured third on the list of most unsafe cities, behind Boston and DC. This survey, conducted by the Steel Alliance (???), just confirms my daily observations. Wanna REALLY piss of Miami drivers? Stop at a yellow light that is about to turn red. Ooohh, that get’s ‘em GOOD! You guys thought you had bad and rude drivers? Naahhhh. They’re all here.

Boy, I’m glad it wasn’t just me. Microbug and I took uberdogs Flash and Two-Tone to Miami last year for an impromptu vacation. Said vacation turned into The Vacation in Hell, but I won’t bore you with that story.

All the time we were in Miami, we were both amazed (well, except for the dogs- at best they exhibited bored amusement) at how bad the traffic and drivers were. I got to the point that the idea of driving someplace there scared the crap out of me. This, coming from a guy who cut his teeth learning to drive on 610 in Houston! That place was truly terrifying.

The capper for the trip was when we got passed on the shoulder by two crotchrockets, at midnight. They had to be going at least one hundred- and this was on an entrance ramp!

I’m sure driving in Miami is an absolute delight compared with what I have to deal with every morning.

There are only three things required to drive in Panama:

  1. Lightning reflexes
  2. Nerves of steel
  3. A complete disregard for human life.

I don’t think I’ll ever be able to drive in the US again without being arrested. I’ve had too many years learning Offensive Driving here.

And here I thought this was going to be about NVIDIA video drivers.

I’ll go back to my geekitude now. Don’t mind me.

Well, Bill, congratulations…I guess…

I bow to you, my southern brother, I have been there, and it IS worse. Fascinating!

The really scary thing is, I have been places that are much, much worse than Panama. I don’t even want to think about them.

I don’t know… I think we win. =)

Ironically enough, I started a job as a driver on Tuesday – I’m a courier/delivery person, essentially, but my job title is “Driver”. I heard this news item while I was driving with my trainer on 128… we could only laugh.

Boston did beat Miami for more unsafe, I have an ex somewhere there, and was in Boston every other weekend for about two years. I drove in, parked, and walked or T’ed everywhere.

And Colibri, I have ridden in Korea and Thailand also. And China, I had blocked that one from my memory least I wake up screaming again. Hell, ROME is worse. Saudi Arabia is a freakshow. The OP is very Ameri-centric, as noted. I think the places with really bad drivers send some of their best here to Miami.
