Yesterday, in my state (Yucatan), deaths by alcohol poisoning equaled deaths by Covid19

Governor Villa says no booze sales will be allowed because it will curb domestic violence.

Which means that booze is now 3-4 times more expensive. Possibly there are people with limited resources that might be buying booze instead of beans for their families. Which may increase domestic violence.

In order to save money, homemade concoctions of alcohol killed seven people yesterday. Another two are blind and in critical condition.

In a Monkey Poll, 61% of those responding said they wanted the dry law to end. Twelve percent agreed with the law.

Governor Villa has extended the dry law once already. The current extension will expire on Friday, May 15, unless he extends it again.

I am watching this closely.
