Well, to me accepting the gay lifestyle means I’d have to think it was OK for guys to hold hands, kiss, have anal sex with each other, etc. And I couldn’t have a problem PDAs between gays, or tell my kids (if I had any) it was wrong.
The gay agenda is what groups like ACT-UP do, trying to promote gayness, and the actions of various groups trying to get public schools to teach that gay sex is normal and OK.
By the way, **G.I. Joe **is the inevitable consequence of the belief that gay=sin. Everyone who embraces that belief, regardless of their “love” for us, bears responsibility for the mindset of people like him.
A fascinating specimen Mr.Esprix, but I think setting the Death Ray all the way up to 11 might have been overkill. Igor could you clean up the remains.
Darn these 1990’s Death Rays, if we had a 1920’s model there would have been nothing left to clean up.
And if we do enact laws and regulations to prevent people from doing evil, who’s idea of evil are we using? Is this a consensus vote or arbitrarily decided?

Exactly which responsibility are you abdicating by leaving me to make my own moral decisions? And is this responsibility reciprocal? Can I take it on and make moral decisions for you? You’ve decided to appoint yourself my moral guardian, how would you feel if I did the same?
**
Apply that last bit to yourself, you’ve seemed to have appointed yourself moral guardian for the planet because your own moral code allows you to do so. By what authority to you claim that responsibility?
Let’s me explain it this way; you label gay sex as a sin. Fair enough. In return, you’re labeled a homophobe. You seem to feel free to give something a vile label, yet when a similar, vile label is applied to you, you object. Do you not see the hypocracy in that?
re: Cain. I’ve always read this the way Grimpixie does: that the POINT of that story is that we ARE our brothers’ keeper. I mean, God, or whoever wrote the bible, put those words in CAIN’S mouth, an unreliable character if there ever was one. You don’t think it was meant to seem that CAIN had BESTED God in that argument, do you? I’d always heard that “Whattam I, my brother’s KEEPER or somethin?” as a lame-brained excuse and an illustration of just how Cain had gone wrong: that he had become, in essence, a Republican (;)), looking out for Number One, when the point of that story is a Liberal one (;);)), that we must take responsibility for our part in a collaborative society, that we MUST look out for each other. THat’s why we evolved as a community animal anyway: safety in numbers and all that.
And Freyr, though you oversimplify, I’d still like to hear Skammer’s reply to your accusation of hypocrisy.
Lissener,
yes, the moral of the STORY (won’t go into how I feel about he bible overall here) of cain and able is that we should watch out for each other, but that does not include forcing our goals, opinions, mores, etc. onto our brother. and there in lies the real crux of this whole matter. most peopel want to place their beliefs, and morals onto me, and that I do not like. this is a free society, they are free to have their opinions and moral codes. they just do not need to force all of them on me.
I think we all agree that certain things are bad things to do…murder, rape, molestation, arson, and all those others too numerous to spell out here that we have laws against. we have a form of government that assists in setting those into laws. as was once said, if you don’t like it here, leave. what is being done to gays and lesbians in the name of god in this country really makes me want to leave and find a better more loving god (if god made me, and I am gay, then he must have meade me gay, and who should judge that here on earth? after all should not judgement be left to god?), and a more loving country. now I just got to find the country, and a job that will let me emmigrate there.
