Yet Another Invention - 'ELECTRON SUCKING GENERATOR'

I think I have come up with a generator that can produce a really small amount of energy without any input (great if you’re lost in the bush and need some power for your light).

The Earth has a huge net negative charge, it isn’t really strong because it’s distributed over the surface of the Earth.

Positivly charge a plastic stick. Move the stick near one end of an insulated metalic pole. The end closest becomes negativly charged and the other end positive. Earth the pole and the end closest to the charged stick is still negative but the other end has stolen sufficient electrons from the Earth. Remove the Earth from the pole. Remove the Charged stick and the pole becomes overall charged negative. You can then make the charge move along a conductor to a battery or something.

I know the power from this would probably be hard pressed trying to run a stove but it’s a renewable energy source.

Any takers?

How about a perpetual motion machine, and an internal combustion e4ngine that runs on water an’ Pappy’s Secret Formula?

It’s late. I need sleep.

What you’re vaguely talking about is harnessing lightning as a power source. I’ve heard of designs to build huge capacitors to store the electric charge from lightning.
