Yet Another Most Extreme Elimination Challenge Question

OK, I understand from a TV Guide™ article, and from numerous SDMB threads about the subject, that MXC is a recycled Japanese game show from the 80’s dubbed over with American actors, yada yada yada.

I’m curious about the original actors - you know, the real Japanese guy who has been renamed “Captain Tenneal”; the real Japanese guy renamed "Guy LeDouche; and the real Kenny Blankenship & Vic Romano. I assume these guys have either moved on to other things in the Japanese game show circuit, or are else Japanese actors who have found work in other jobs since their “Takeshi’s Castle” gig ended.

Also - what of the locations? They seem to be somewhat rural. Where in Japan was this show filmed?

Finally, for those who didn’t know, the third season of MXC begins Tuesday, April 22nd on Spike TV. They’re doing an “almost live” special from Orlando. I’d be thrilled if they somehow got the original Japanese cast to Orlando and dubbed over their voices for this special - that would be too much!

OK, I’m looking at my calendar and seeing that April 22 is a Thursday.

There isn’t a ton of information out there about the show yet, but as its popularity grows, I’m sure you’ll see more.

The only character that I know of that has any type of exposure outside of Japan is actor/writer/director Takeshi Kitano, the main character of the show. He’s probably most recognized outside of Japan for his role as the Yakuza boss Takahashi in Johnny Mnemonic.
