The implication is “Holy shit.” My initial reaction was probably a bit strong. It’s going to take a few weeks behind the wheel. What does this button do? Or, it’s the lighter.
When I got my license, I suddenly went from traveling by subway to driving 100 km per day through the city. Now, that was traumatic. Sitting on one’s chair and clicking buttons is different.
How do you know I’m sitting in a chair? Is this website spying on me? Suddenly, I get the new format.
knocks and pings? On the old site, there were so many 502 and 504 errors that you couldn’t post anything for sometimes minutes or sometimes hours. Much of that time, you couldn’t read anything because the system was locking you out. That’s more like the radiator blowing up and overheating every day.
Compared to that, pretty much anything was better. I’m pleasantly surprised how much better this board has turned out to be. YMMV.
It’s just disappointing. This is the best that 2020 has to offer? Simple, compact, and easy to read were all we really needed.
This software is pretty good. However, many users on another community I’m a member of feel that for a legacy community such as SD, XenForo would have been a better forum software choice for you guys. That said, almost all forum makers are trying to emulate social media features in some way to attract more younger users, so you would have ended up with wut you see here at some point.
This is probably the best 2020 has to offer for free.
