Yippe kai yai yea, we are goin to war!

Yippie ki yi yay,
Get along camel jockey
It’s all your misfortune
And none of my own

(Note: the preceding post in no way reflects my thoughts or feelings but is merely a parody of how the hawks and idiots are responding.)

It’s about FUCKING time!!

Come on - drop the pretenses about WMD, humanitarian aid, anti-terrorism! Let’s go kick some ass for the real reasons!

1.) We’ve got the most powerful army - that’s no fun unless you get a chance to use it
2.) We don’t have to get anybody else’s support: If you’ve got it, flaunt it.
3.) We’ve already dropped so much money getting our troops out there - we don’t want to end up with a National case of Blue-Balls. To quote “Braveheart”: “We didn’t get dressed up for nothin’”
4.) It’s fun!

So let’s kill Saddam, decapitate his government, then stay just long enough to give the impression of propriety. Then we can drop the Iraqis like a prissy cheerleader after a grudge-fuck and forget about them until something goes wrong again.

Oh, and while we’re at it, I think we should do our best to let the Kurds get hung out to dry again. I haven’t had so much fun watching people get fucked-with since I used to cut snail’s heads off with pruning shears. I dumped them in a bucket of water - they’d stretch, stretch, STRETCH their little heads out, looking for something to grab onto until SCHLIIINK! Off with 'ere heads!

Prolly the best way to screw them again would be to look the other way when Turkey bull-dozes them after the worst of the Iraqi conflict is over. Turkey’ll be happy enough with our sloppy-seconds so long as they get those northern Oil fields. What-the-fuck’ll we care?

The only thing left is to figure out how to ass-rape the French for daring to have a differing opinion and having the temerity to stick with it. Those goddamned smelly frog-eating fucks. I think we need to do our best now to try and find a whole NEW set of stereotypes we can ignorantly lay on them, if only to piss the world off more. Fuck 'em. They may be better at that pussy “L’amour” shit but we’ve got a bigger dick, and the world knows it, too. S’about time we used it!!

Ahh, the blind quoting of propaganda literature. I have read about this. Fascinating to see the feeding frenzy of the genus “Ignoramus Brainwashedeus” in person.

All that proof that Suddam and Iraq have ties to terrorists or somehow head international terrorists is just so overwhelming. Makes you wonder why nobody understands eh?

Err, replace evidence with proof. Two different creatures, I know.

Seeing that convincing examples of neither are available, replacing the terms strikes me as a rather pointless task.

Wasn’t Osama pissed because we had troops in Saudi?

If that’s the case what the hell does 9/11 have to do with Iraq?

I’ve yet to hear concrete evidence.

Cue: <Subject change to humanitarian justifications for the war, to redirect conversation away from lack of evidence connecting terrorism to Hussein>

Read some more history to put “I don’t think war is right” in perspective. During Vietnam a lot of people didn’t think war was right. A whole lot of Americans didn’t think it was right or that it was in our best interests to worry about some Asian country that was none of their business. The war continued anyway. A lot of people died (Military and civilian dead (all forces): 1,313,000 including 57,605 Americans) for nothing… all because because American military and foreign policy dictated that it be so.

The US troops in Saudi Arabia were deployed there following the Gulf War. They were part of the containment strategy for coping with Saddam without deposing him. Some folks might say that part of the US reasons for not deposing Saddam in the first place was to give the Saudis enough to worry about that they would welcome US troops, but had the US deposed Saddam in the first place, they could just as easily have built an Iraqi regime that would allow US troops in. A conspiracy theorist might believe that putting US troops into that part of the Middle East was the goal of some shadow operation that stirred up trouble in the first place, but that’s a topic for another thread…

Oh, and I didn’t mean to imply that I have knowledge of specific ties between Saddam and terrorist organizations. But everyone would agree that Iraq frequently attempts to smuggle out resources in return for hard currency. And few would doubt that if J. Random Terrorist showed up at Saddam’s door with a wad of cash that he would be welcomed in with open arms.

So you have two groups who have a huge incentive to do business with each other, and I’m willing to bet that it’s been tried at least once. On the other hand, one would think that had such an attempt taken place, then there either would have been another tragedy associated with it, or an interception of it, yet no sign of either has appeared since 1991. On the third hand, however, I could believe that some part of our intelligence apparatus would fear that any publicity of a shipment interception would reveal some of our intelligence sources. But even if nothing has happened yet, I have little doubt that it would only be a matter of time, should Saddam remain in power.

Nothing solid, I’ll grant you, but that’s why I think that deposing Saddam is the least awful of all alternatives.
