Yogurt spoiling?

I was gone from my home for a few days and when I came back I found my fridge dead. I chucked all the meat and more questionable substances, kept the bottled and canned stuff like beer and soft drinks. But I was wondering what I should do with the yogurt.

I remember reading in my youth that the mongul hordes rode for days with yogurt kept in goat bladders kept on a hot sweaty horse and they dined on that.

Thus my question is, “Is my yoplait edible?” or have we de-yorgurtized the active culture that makes up the food so we now have to keep it cold? Or have I become less tough than the mongul hordes digestively and will die if I try to consume the substance?

try it!!!

Yogurt’s cultures provide an acid environment, which is unhealthy for other bacteria. If left outside for a long enough time, the cultures will die, but the acidity will remain, IMHO. Hence, it will be safe to eat, but will not have the benefits of those friendly bacteria. This is just my WAG. No cites, sorry.
