Just got a Walmart gift card hijack.
But those are always legitimate. People just want to give you things. How nice.
So I’m a few days late, but I’ve whitelisted SDMB on Adblock and I’ll report if I get anything.
Haven’t had that nasty ad in a few days. Fingers crossed.
We switched off the most recently restarted ad series. Please advise of any further instances of gift card or other hijack. Thanks.

I just got the you-gift-cards one on my android tablet.

After the above reports, we’ve stopped the latest ad provider. Please let us know if you still experience the hijack/redirect.
Just got hijacked at 12:55 CST. Chrome browser on Android, sent me to “you-giftcard[dot]club”.
We think (once again) we have isolated the problem and have made necessary adjustments. Pls advise immediately of any further hijacks, in particular popups offering gift cards. If you do get such a hijack, pls send a screen shot. Thanks.
I expressed a level of dismay over ads and then left based on it. But, I was emailed to come back by someone and i see it is just a banner at the bottom. That is responsive Customer Service and I am going to pay for a subscription because of it.

Seems to be back: at around 6:28 pm, while visiting “I’m starting to dread the Oscars” thread in GD, I got an ad hijack from clearemploy.com.

I’ve been browsing the boards for a week or so not logged in via multiple devices to test and haven’t run into that After the last go round we believed we had isolated it.
I will continue to do so and appreciate the feedback. Any screenshot or other data you can provide would be helpful.
Yeah, I hadn’t seen it for several days, but it just showed up on my iPhone. I emailed Ed Zotti the screenshot before I posted here; lemme know if it needs to go anywhere else (I just figured out how to screenshot on my phone, go me!)

Hijack, can’t go back to SDMB without making a new tab.
Note that the banner on the bottom by itself makes using the forums on mobile very difficult and deterring. The area of the screen I can use to drag text is cramped, and i frequently launch the ad itself while tapping an area that appears to be well clear of the banner.
Never used an ad blocker, but the forums are so hard to use and annoying (especially on my smartphone) that I find myself participating less and less these days.
