I was told one that being in hypnosis for an hour was like sleeping for 8 hours. Is this true? And if it is then are there adverse effects to hypnotizing yourself as opposed to sleeping every night?
Maybe there are different type of hypnosis, but I was hypnotized by a stage hypnotist once, which was relaxing, but not a replacement for sleep… I got a good night’s sleep a few hours later.
Based on my very limited experience, I’d say hypnosis could not be used as a substitute for sleep, but maybe someone out there knows more about it…
As a certified hypnotherapist
When you are hypnotized you are extremely rested and relaxed. Some people claim that an hour of hypnosis “feels” like an 8 hours of good sleep because when you “amaken” from a hypnotic session, you feel refreshed and relaxed. Much like after 8 hours of good sleep. However, hypnosis should not be used as a substitute for sleep. You’re body still needs that period of rest, along with your mind :o).

Speaking of sleep, I guess I need some. That’s awaken, and cancel the an in 8 hours of sleep. Yeesh.
