Nobody picked Brubaker? To badly misquote the final scene: “Of course I’m really the warden! I’m too handsome to be a real criminal!”
Sundance Channel aired Butch Cassidy and The Sting this Saturday.
I was curious enough to watch The Sting. Not much has changed since I saw it years ago. I still don’t fully understand The Big Con plot. I like the authenticity. Con men had to risk getting roughed up and possibly killed by the Marks.
I understand why The Sting is drawing votes. It’s enjoyable and well made.
I didn’t get it all on the first viewing, but it makes sense after that. What are you still unclear on?
I understand The Sting’s “Big Con” perfectly. If you have questions, just ask.
I saved The Sting on my Philo account. It will make more sense after I watch it again.
If I’m still confused I’ll post a question in a separate thread.
What does a philo account have to do with it making sense
I can rewatch the movie. The cloud DVR is a feature of Philo.
I’ll pay closer attention the next time that I watch.
Three Days of the Condor for sure, and it’s not even close.

While I enjoy Redford’s serious movies like The Candidate and All The President’s Men, and thoroughly enjoyed The Sting and Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid (one of the movies I constantly quote; “Rules? In a knife fight? No rules!”), looking over his filmography, I realized there are only two movies I will stop everything and watch if I run across them on TV, Three Days of the Condor and the one I’m going to vote for:
The Hot Rock
It doesn’t just have comedic tones, it is a straight out comedy wrapped around a complicated heist. Redford plays the sane Bob Newhart type center, with all the other characters bouncing off and around him. His increasing obsession with the titular maguffin and the gang’s increasingly elaborate schemes to first steal it and then retrieve it co9mprise one of my favorite comedies.
