I’m mad as hell and I’m not going to take it anymore.
Some of you might not be aware that sometimes Pit threads are opened about the stupid, offensive, ill-advised, vicious, or just plain incomprehensible things that occasionally are said by various people in the public square.
But it never fails. The original poster complains about some stupid thing some stupid public person stupidly said. Sometimes the complaint is debatable, and there are logically supportable ways to debate the OP’s complaint. What is not logical, what is not helpful, what is indefensable is to attempt to defend the stupid person who stupidly said the stupid thing by pointing out that other stupid people have also said other stupid things.
Who cares? If you really are upset by the OTHER stupid people who stupidly said stupid things, open your own goddam pit thread. The fact that some third party who you politically oppose said something stupid is not germane to the problem that someone you politically support said something stupid. And all sides do it, I don’t notice this degenerate proclivity to be confined to one particular side, but rather from all 27 sides. And it isn’t exactly a defense to go all meta and defend your tu quoque logical fallacies by complaining that the other guys use tu quoque as well.
I trust I don’t have to provide links, just see a random assortment of political pit threads. It just seems particularly prevalent the last few days. But the next time one of you motherfuckers pull a tu quoque out of your ass in one of these threads, I’m going to politely request that you jam that bad boy right back up there.
