Sterling Archer, I agree with you mostly there, and thank you for that explanation, I think that Hakeem was an exceptional defender, an all time great, while Duncan is merely above average (but significantly so).
As others have said, Hakeem will cover Dirk if it comes to that. Duncan can handle Russell offensively. And LBJ has been the primary outside scoring threat on a team that’s won two titles and is on its way to a third, so I’m OK with him as the second banana to Jordan.
This makes me wish it could actually happen.
How much could I get Laimbeer for?
IMHO, the greatest flaw in this equation is the relative value - none of the players should have figures under 3. That said, it’s fun to do - baseball would be really interesting.
They have one for baseball, it’s pretty ridiculous. Mike Trout is ranked as the number one center fielder. Nolan Ryan is ranked ahead of Greg Maddux too.
Point Guard:
Walt Frazier - $1
Shooting Guard:
Dwyane Wade - $1
Small Forward:
Scottie Pippen - $1
Power Forward:
Kevin Garnett - $1
Center:
Hakeem Olajuwon - $1
Now where’s my left over $10, OP? I’ll take it to vegas and if I win, I’ll buy all the $5 players
Yeah, that one’s not worth playing. Troy Tulowitzki as a $5 player? Pete Rose even on the list at first base over God knows how many better hitters? (Put him at third if you have to, and I wouldn’t bump Chipper Jones for Rose). And no Walter Johnson/Lefty Grove/Cy Young for starting pitchers…
Going to try to come up with my own and post it elsewhere.
I’ve got $3 in my wallet. Lou Gehrig or Aroldis Chapman… Lou Gehrig… or Aroldis Chapman?
