I’m trying to figure out where I’d have the bad judgement to sleep with someone who would then pay me to keep quiet. I suppose that given that I would have the first part of bad judgement, I might as well follow up with a check - since the other person is offering. And probably a big one - I’d be quite upset by their and my poor judgment, so I’d act irrationally.
I’m possibly just as likely to request everything in writing and turn it over to the press - asking that my name be redacted. I’d be PISSED and hell hath no fury…

The list of people I would have sex with is very short, and I’d keep it quiet. Hell, I once cashiered a very famous person and didn’t tell anyone… And they let me keep their change for “not saying anything.”

One question about the legal position:
If it were me who brought up the topic of hush money to Mrs. Bigshot’s lawyer, I’d clearly have a criminal case for blackmail hanging over me.
What about the opposite case, as outlined in the OP - could Mrs. Bigshot possibly get me into trouble for blackmail, citing an implicit or undocumented, oral threat of exposure? (FWIW, every Mrs. Bigshot would be mortally embarassed if I went public).
They might have a case, maybe…
