You may be my boss for now, bitch

But, don’t be surprised if you lose your whole staff. Of course, maybe that’s what you want. After all, outsourcing would be so much more convenient.

Not a one of us in there is stupid. Those websites you told us about? We all visit them fairly often. They help us to enhance our skills.

Take a couple of weeks to learn, and THEN make changes. Spend some time listening-not announcing plans. I can walk out that door, and so can the rest of the staff, and have another job in less than a month. I can take a retail job to get by until then. I do this job because I love it, not because the money is fantastic, not because it’s glamorous.

But, the one thing I wanted to say to you all day was a simple FUCK YOU. And there it is.

Did ya have a tough day?

Do ya feel better?

Hang in there, show the bitch just how good you are.

New people in charge almost always try to make drastic changes. They also have the urge to flaunt thier power.

Ride the storm out.

Or not.

[sub]this has been my worthless .02[/sub]

I take it your meeting didn’t go well?

I gotta agree withimthjckaz:

I have been that person who suddenly has new power and wants to try it out (OY! What a mistake! I was nearly lynched by my staff! Fortunately, I got a clue in time to avoid disaster…).

Before you quit, you might try taking this person aside and saying something along the lines of "You’re making an ass of yourself, and everyone is going to quit because (reason A), (reason B), etc. Do it gently, as big ego-issues are on the line here!

If this person has an ounce of brains, they will quickly get over their anger (at you for questioning their leadership), and realize what an ass they have been!
Unfortunately, no one did this for me, and I had to figure it out for myself (LONG story!! I won’t bore you with the details), I LITERALLY almost lost my entire teaching staff at a time when this would have, again LITERALLY, bankrupted a long-standing and well respected English school in Korea! I got lucky, thanks to a friend who clued me in…

Give this person a break, and talk to her… maybe she’s just fucking up due to inexperience…

(Good luck!)

Inexperience? nope. This person has been in “power” positions for a decade.

Talking to her? Nope, won’t work, because, well, have you ever met one of those people who will never admit that they are wrong? That’s what we’ve got going on here.

She gets 1 month, during which I will have my resume up to date and going out. If a better offer comes along, I’ll take it.

Not particularly.
Well, I’ll take the weekend, calm down, and see how Monday goes.

If this is the case, then I’m with you 100%! Keep your resume up to date (and in active circulation), actively look for another (better) job, and give her a month…

(again, good luck!)
