I already have some and love the ones I’ve got. If I absolutely had to get another one, it would probably be Celtic knotwork, maybe on my inner forearm.

Small sleeping kitten,upper arm.

The owl from Chauvet. Thirty thousand yeas old, and immediately recognizable–not just a bird (and owls are cool, inherently), but an action, a moment, an experience (the owl has it’s head turned 180 degrees). It’s a beautiful representation of the continuity of humanity.

I have many. For those anti tattoo, normalizing pigment in a de-pigmented area could work for you.

I have vitiligo involving my hands and knees. I wear kayaking gloves to block the sun on my hands, but my knees kept burning. A tattoo artist/friend tattooed my knees Caucasian. Hurt like hell, going over the thick calluses of the knee over and over to get it just right. Now my knees look normal and I don’t burn.

If this is at gunpoint…

“Nobody listen to Zathras.” on the inside of my wrist. or

“Si Opus Quadratum vis, angulos praecidere noli.” - maybe same location. or

A two-inch rendition of the impossible triangle, high on my shoulder.

Would very well-done eyeliner/eyebrow permanent makeup count?

If not, a small Orthodox or Coptic cross on my wrist. This design is rather pretty.

I got my first tattoo as a retirement present to myself. An American badger on my left forearm, love it.

A full-back tattoo of two chinese dragons, circling as a yin/yang symbol. Red dragon on the right side, green dragon on the left.

For the tattoo haters, hey, that’s your tattoo!!! “I hate tattoos” inked somewhere hidden.

Me, I already meet the requirements of our new overlords. I have two. One is about 20 years old, from back in the days when I had a sailboat and was out at least once a week. A compass rose on my right calf. The second one I got about 4 months ago. It is the EKG of one of Mattie, my life dog, who passed away a few years ago. She had an irregular heartbeat, so her EKG is like a signature, completely unique. It runs down the lower side of my right forearm from elbow to wrist.

I have no tattoos, and probably won’t, but I have thought about it. Mine would be a memorial, incorporating:

  • a snuffed, still smoking candle as the centerpiece
  • A jack of diamonds playing card
  • a broken arrow
  • a daisy flower
  • leave room to eventually add a small keg of TNT

It would be a full color, highly artistic tattoo - no junk. Probably on my upper arm or shoulder blade.

Leviticus 19:28

I have one, and liked it so much I do want to get another one. In neat Hindi font, I’d have written

Om Shantih shantih shantih

I do read Hindi fairly well so I wouldn’t be a poser.

You must have a limb amputated – what would you choose?

Probably just the next tattoo I was planning on getting anyway: either the ***** from Vonnegut’s Breakfast of Champions, or the two dueling avatars from the original cover of Stephen King’s The Stand.

I do literary tattoos.

I would go for something like this around the eyes but more subtle.

The Om symbol, and the word “Susan” in script centered underneath it, on my lower back.

What an excellent tattoo.

That branch that keeps getting caught in my telephone wires?
As for the OP
“Open with care” down my rib cage.

(I don’t have or want any tattoos but I’m not against them)
