You say you want a revoluuuution

Here’s a group attempting to raise an army of protesters “inspiring people to see the possibility of ousting this regime through unleashing the tremendous power of the people – aiming for the time when millions can be moved to fill the streets of cities and towns day after day and night after night, declaring this whole regime illegitimate – Demanding, and Not Stopping, Until The Trump/Pence Regime Is Driven from Power.”

Because populist revolutions against elected governments tend to turn out so well.

Yeah, it’s too bad there aren’t a couple of different ways that the current “regime” could be ousted peacefully.

Sure. You know it’s gonna be alright.

By all means let’s exhaust the peaceful alternatives first.

How many of these assholes actually voted?

This thread title chaps my hide. Lennon very clearly sings “you say you want a revoolutiooon.” C’mon, man, get it right.

(Low energy nutpicking – SAD!)

Nonviolent mass protests??? The horror! I’ve never heard of such a thing. It’s the end of democracy as we know it. Quick, everyone, start beating up anyone who looks lefty. I’ll tell you when to stop.

I wouldn’t dismiss this call to action so quickly. The first step to power is clearly seizing the Catalina Park and Splash Pad in Tucson. The rest of the nation would then fall like dominoes.

“Nonviolent protests” and “drive the elected government from power” do not go hand in hand. But thanks for the disingenuous, dismissive bullshit.

Yeah, on further read, they’re just calling for peaceful protests.

If that scares you, that’s your problem.

Large enough continuous protests, mass general strikes, and enough outrage at the current administration could theoretically influence Congress to oust the madman in the White House. I’m not counting on it, but I can see the appeal in trying.

If you are truly alarmed by this, I suggest you go hide in your bunker for the next several decades. The world must be a horribly scary place for you.

I’m scared. Terrified. I’m gonna get mah gunz and defend the things that are sacred to me … the bowling alley and the BBQ joint. Murrica!

Heh, the guy who put “army” and “revolution” in his OP, when neither term appears on the page you’re complaining about, says I’m disingenuous. Nice alarmist bullshit there.

Are you unaware that Congress can remove the President from office? Or that mass protests are a way to pressure Congress to action? That’s why the page says “demand” so many times, they’re talking about making political demands. This isn’t complicated.

I’m not “alarmed” by it–I’m pitting it. I’m pitting the idiots who think a legally and fairly elected president is “illegitimate”, and that a mass populist insurrection to overthrow that legally and fairly elected president would not be the death knell of American democracy.

I looked for news coverage of this organization’s past rallies, including the “People’s Trial of Donald Trump” in Berkeley two months ago, and the “Refuse Fascism Potluck Meet and Greet” (not making that up) in Tuscon on the same day. I could not find anything.

Clearly a lamestream media conspiracy to conceal these seditious meetings that threaten Making America Great Again!

I will not consider him to be legit until and unless we get to the bottom of Russian meddling in the election. He got elected courtesy of the Russians and Comey. So there is no “moving forward”. The way the Orange Bastard keeps trying to scuttle the investigations screams GUILTY to me.

So no, the fat fuck is NOT legit.

He’s never been legit in his fucking life. Ever.

His parents were, in fact, married. To each other. So, for a brief, shining moment…

The difference between the Trump administration and the communist regimes of Eastern Europe that were deposed by mass demonstrations circa 1990 is that a large number of people actually voted for Trump.

Fascists want the state to be run by the military.

Trump would never support that. It takes attention away from him.

If only there were an amendment to the constitution that would allow people the right to peaceably assemble, to speak, and to petition the government for grievances, otherwise, what they are doing would be outright unconstitutional.
