You stinkin' network programers, I could kill! Sleepy Hollow or The Big Bang Theory?

Both premier 9/22 at 8. What am I going to do? What should I do? I watch very little prime time network TV, how could those fuc. . . jerks do this to me?

Is anyone else suffering at the hands of these stupid programmers?

Three letters: DVR.

You mean you watch live TV? I didn’t know anyone did that anymore.

Seriously, won’t you have to watch the commercials that way? Brrrrrrr!

Maybe the commercials will alternate so you can flip back and forth without missing much?

If I had to decide I’d go for BBT. They replay Sleepy Hollow 20 times per week. BBT can be hard to catch if you don’t get it on the first go-round. The only way I’ve found is on their website something like a week later.

Uh…I have a VCR. I could tape one of 'em if you’re willing to pay postage. Priority or Media. Your call.

Fuck the networks. Monday Night is for football. So is Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday. All other watchable TV should be on Tuesday, Wednesday, or Friday. This is a problem even with DVR, since mine can only record two things at once, and if it does, we can’t watch a third channel. I have spoken. So mote it be.

watch them both.

two sets going and audio from each into s separate side of a stereo headphone.

No, I do not have a DVR. I do have a VCR but never knew how to work it and don’t have a cassette even if I did.

Do you have any friends or family that would be willing to tape the episode of one of the shows for you? You may have to call around a bit to find someone who still has a VCR.

I’ll bet that if you sat down and played with it, you could figure out how to operate a VCR in five or ten minutes. You can probably still buy VHS tapes in Target, Walmart or Kmart. Or check the websites for CBS and Fox. You may be able to watch one or both of them online, perhaps as soon as the day after they air.

Depending on your cable provider, you may have an On Demand for one of these networks or the other. Doesn’t hurt to check.

And besides, all your money is spent on:

Candles, to see at night
Food for your horse
A brand-new spinning wheel.

Sleepy Hollow is on Hulu…

I never watched Big Bang Theory until the reruns began. I’ve enjoyed them & would gladly watch the new episodes.

Except that Sleepy Hollow is far superior!

They still do re-runs, you know. Rock it old school and watch one now, and one over the summer.

Watch BBT in real time then watch SH for free on Hulu the next day. (You don’t have to be a plus member)

BBT doesn’t play on Hulu so don’t attempt this the other way around

Both of these posts are absolutely correct. Sleepy Hollow is far better than BBT, but Sleepy Hollow is also on Hulu.

I thought Sleepy Hollow was a movie with Johnny Depp. I know some people think he’s dreamy, but I can’t see the upside in a network programming it once a week.

Sleepy Hollow is a series on Fox that was renewed just after its premiere last September. Like the Depp movie, it uses Washington Irving’s story as a jumping off place–but it jumps in a different direction. From io9:

Later episodes kept up the pace & the 13 episode series ended with multi-cliff-hangers. (On the other network, Sheldon & his pals continue their adventures–that I’ll eventually catch up with.)

I am pretty sure you can catch TBBT on CBS dot com the next day.
