You are 100% correct. I was just making a joke about a book buying binge. We have 8 bookcases and I have to weed them all the time. However, new books, the feel the smell, the anticipation…another bookcase would not match IMO. Yeah, I’m weird. So buy the bookcases and get the books off the floor.
An SSD for my pc.
boots
Clay, glaze, maybe some cool tools that I’d never have gotten otherwise. What I’d really like is a pug mill, but them suckers cost way more than $500 (like in the thousands), so I’ll settle for lots of lesser supplies.
Altho considering the state of my studio at the moment, it might be worth it to pay someone $500 to clean it for me.
I’d like to change my answer. Full deep house cleaning please!
I guess I would have to say the same thing, because I have everything I could possibly want. In fact I am having trouble coming up with a Christmas list for my family.
A 27-inch 2560x1440 monitor.
A new suit, costly haircut and a shave and then go back to see if I can get another $500.
I’d take a brief holiday in Iceland, which I’ve always wanted to visit.
An annual passport to Tokyo Disney Resort for my son. US$500 is just enough to cover a 2-park pass. JPY55,000 is about US$477.
Lego, either the Death Star or Mindstorms kits.
I think I want to add this to my $500 “wish” list.
That and/or a Stihl chainsaw (new/used, but GOOD condition)
and Hell… while I’m asking, a silver A6 with manual transmission.
(It’d make the Holidays exciting for Everybody!)
Flay Rod. Mine’s gone out of skew on treadle.
He’s not for sale. And his name is (back to) Ted.
I think I’d get one of my cars painted. Or find a tank for my GB500 that fell off the stand last month. I fear $500 wouldn’t cover it.
Either a new banjo or I’d do some computer upgrading. I’m not sure which, I’d probably flip for it.
New winter coat (mine is fine, I’m just tired of it) and a pair of high-heeled boots.
Oh…I might also have to change my answer! I hate to clean.
I also might spring for new, matching bookcases instead of my original answer.
Damn. Can I have another $500?
Rent a helicopter for two hours, which would be enough for me to get a checkout to start renting at that FBO.
AvGas. Either for the 172, or for some of my motorcycles. Unless my friend’s wife makes him sell his “parts Jeep” it’s a 1947 Willys CJ-2A, then I would buy another Willys.
Oh wait, Tools! No no, I have enough already, right? Although a Bore-o-scope of my own would be nice. Hmmm.
Health insurance.
Edit: bah, dont’ think that follows the rules. Clothes. Pants, a few jerseys. . .maybe a SSD drive for my computer to speed things up a bit. I’ve always wanted a brown leather bomber jacket, but figure I won’t have enough after the other things.
Another vote for a good single malt.
Balvenie 25yo or a Bowmore 25.
Yippee! I got my boots! Ok they were not $500
