Please feel free to read the second half of my previous post that attempts to put Kyoto in a wider context. No western nation believes it is reasonable to ask too much of the poorer countries at this stage of developing a global initiative – that Mr Bush claims he does is, again, ‘spinning’: e.g. Appealing to base, uniformed, nationalistic instincts rather than nurturing informed pragmatism.
Damn, that propaganda is really working.
Conducted by whom on behalf of whom and in exactly what terms was the question asked of a population largely bereft of access to an informed debate ?
Which “housewives”: Educated middle-class, single working mothers, income levels, power industry employees ,etc., etc.? - it means nothing without context.
Nine out of ten housewives prefer global warming…
Are you seriously asking me to accept the ‘opinion’ of Time Warner ? BTW, my congratulations to the publication for establishing their Editorial line so speedily after the meetings. Cynical - who me ?
As an alternative, here’s a sample of opinion from Switzerland, Poland and Spain – I’ll assume you are at least familiar with the views of the Scandinavians, France, Germany, the UK and Holland.
I’d urge you to read between the lines whatever the source.
