but as stated originally I’m afraid there’s no real problem since “error” actually does appear in the sentence, making the statement true, which was not the intent.
This is something I thought I remembered correctly from a logic or paradox article. But I must have gotten it wrong somehow. I’d appreciate a cite for the correct wording and its source. Smullyan, maybe?
Never mind about that cite. I found the source. It’s the neat little paperback book by John Allen Paulos: I Think, Therefore I Laugh; that I’ve had since 1990.
The title of one of the sections (starting on page 30) is The Titl of This Section Contains Three Erors.
Later on page 43 he has
