My mother had chest pain mid week. She went to the hospital, and they examined her. Did the works, ECG, Echo etc. clear. No elevated cardiac enzymes, thank God.
Due to the fact she is a diabetic (controlled with medicine, she is not overweight), over sixty, and her family history (her father and 3 uncles had heart disease), the cardiologist has advised a CT angiography.
Which will be done next week. What should we expect?
I am thinking about taking a few days off and staying over at my parents, not comfortable with them being alone at home. How long do results normally take? And the dye used, adverse effects for a diabetic? Should we get a second opinion?
