Your ellipses showing...!

No problem!

Still…this is a conflict as old as language. My son willfully (to my ears) would intentionally mess up the pronunciation of words when he was younger as a means of control. This means someone who isn’t familiar with his word play is going to question what it is he’s saying exactly; which is a hinderance to communication. Insofar as whether using punctuation like ellipses is “right”, is a battle that will be decided over time. You should have a clear understanding of the rules before you can “break” them.
The run-on sentence in the first exchange of the linked conversation upthread reads like an excited 12 y.o. and not like how someone would talk normally…

This is interesting. I text often. And looking through my logs, I don’t use end periods for the last sentence, but only when talking with friends… Although looking at texts from my boss, we both only use end periods about half the time. My employee always uses full grammar/punctuation with me, and she’s 20.

For the end period being rude, I’m going to guess this was an offshoot of a funny conversation I’ve seen floating around that says having a potential romantic partner reply to you with “K.” is way more devastating than just “k” because they had to put effort into the capitalization and period. It’s rude because instead of a breezy “ok” it is poised to mean “actually, this is boring and fuck you.” I would never consider a period after a full sentence rude though, even in a humourous context.
