Your Favorite Buffet Items

In the south we have a Buffet everywhere you turn. Whether Mongolian, Chinese, American, Pizza, etc…

What ONE item do you deem necessary to be on the bar for you to enjoy your meal? What is your favorite type of buffet?

My vote is for Chinese Buffet and my one item is Carrot Salad. Carrot Salad is a combination of carrots, raisins and pineapple

Mmmm…buffet.

Generally, not a big buffet person, but some foods do well in buffets, esp the kind where sampling is perfect. Chinese buffets are good, if you find a non-run-of-the-mill one.

Chinese buffet fave = twice cooked pork, or any spicey meat dish, provided they have the homemade red hot sauce with seeds around (pastey suace)

BUT, Indian food is my favorit buffet type. I don’t know what most of it is! But anything spicey will do!

Breakfast buffet. Bacon. Piles and piles of bacon.

I’ll second this one.

As for a lunch/dinner buffet, hard boiled eggs.

I love all-you-can-eat spaghetti.

We have quite a few Chinese buffets around here and not many other kinds, aside from breakfast buffets, which are all the same.

One chinese buffet has the most amazing ginger beef which I can’t live without, the other has BBQ pork, which is very nummy, but doesn’t taste anything like BBQ.

Crab ragoons. I could LIVE on these things and I invariably bring back 3 or 4 (or 12) whenever I hit the buffet line.

A cow-orker votes for Crab Ragoon too!

Damn…I’m hungry now, and want to add chicken terriaki to my list…and boneless rib tips…and…well, I’ll stop there.

So, what is the yellowish/greenish looking spicey chicken dish in Indian restaurants anyway? Put me down for some of that, too.

The Indian buffets here in south Orlando use a lot of spinich in their dishes. MMMMMmmmm

There is a vegetarian Indian restaurant around the corner and they make some killer rice dishes on their buffet with yogurt dressing/gravy. I could eat myself sick in that place.

I am so hungry now!

I vote for Indian–I love pakoras. Or biryani. Or naan. Or saag. Okay, let’s just say I love Indian food and with the buffet, I get to try new stuff, too.

I vote for breakfast buffet. BACON!! Bacon Bacon Bacon Bacon Bacon!!!

I agree that breakfast buffets are the best thing ever. All the bacon and sausage and scrambled eggs and hash browns you can eat! Mmm.

My favorite buffet? No contest…the Monday night buffet at Dougie’s BBQ. Barbecued spare ribs, buffalo wings, onion rings, hot dogs, hamburgers, hot pastrami…

Essential items? The ribs and the wings.

Yum.

Brown gravy, no flavor, just a color.

Breakfast buffets are the tops. What makes them really rock? Biscuits and cream gravy. Maybe grits. But definately cream gravy.

Dessert Bar!!!

Cakes, cookies, cheesecake, fruit, pudding…mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Uh-huh.

There is no such thing as too much bacon. Bacon makes everything better. Except maybe for ice cream.
I enjoy the orange chicken at buffets. At Hometown Buffet, I love the fried fish, the shepherd’s pie, the meatloaf and the desert isle.

At Chinese buffets, I have to have fried rice. Yeah… just plain ol’ fried rice. I could eat my weight in that stuff. Lo mein too, but not the kind made with spaghetti noodles. I like the kind made with what looks like angel hair pasta.

At normal buffets, I typically eat lots of salads.

I hate breakfast. Bacon is an abomination!

There’s a chinese buffet near my house that makes the best dim sung ever. Actually, it’s almost more like a pot sticker, but they call it dim sung.

I love Mongolian BBQs. I usually get shrimp, squid, onions and green pepper and top it off with terriyaki, garlic and chili oil.

Gotta go with the Harrah’s Buffet in Laughlin, they have every type of food you can imagine plus some. Whenever I go there, I eat way too damn much and end up regretting it, but luckily they have restrooms close by for um… emergency stops
